Reed College Centennial Community Day Celebration
Reed College is hosting a Community Day to celebrate our 100th birthday! A day of music, food, and games for the whole family kicks off at 8 a.m. with the inaugural Reed College 5k Odyssey run/walk to benefit neighborhood elementary schools. In the evening, join us for a movie on the lawn and fireworks.

7 a.m. On-site registration for the Reed College 5k Odyssey run/walk, Eliot Circle
8 a.m. Reed College 5k Odyssey run/walk to benefit Duniway, Grout, Lewis, and Woodstock elementary schools begins at Eliot Circle. To register now, visit our registration site.
8:30–11 a.m. Pancake breakfast, commons in the Gray Campus Center (price included in 5k-run/walk registration, or $5.95 per person)
9:30 a.m.–2 p.m. Games, a climbing wall, a bouncy castle, face painting, balloons, juggling, and food, Great Lawn & the Quad
10 a.m. Kids’ run, Great Lawn
10 a.m. Rugby match, upper playing field near Steele
11 a.m. (& noon & 1 p.m.) Tour of the research reactor, meet in the chemistry building foyer
11 a.m. Portland Taiko performance, Quad
11 a.m. Tour of the Reed canyon, meet at the north end of the blue bridge, near Bragdon Hall

Noon–5 p.m. Cooley Art Gallery exhibition honoring 100 years of generosity. Museion features major art works and ethnographic objects donated to the college over the last century.
12:15 p.m. Pet parade, the Quad
12:30 p.m. Reed College architecture tour, meet at the flagpole on the Great Lawn
12:30 p.m. (& 3 p.m.) Classical Greek Theatre of Oregon presents A. Loizidis National Theatre School of Greece performing a drama by Euripides, Iphigenia in Tauris, Cerf amphitheatre (tickets are $10–15; admission is free for students, faculty, and staff with a current Reed ID)
1 p.m. Tour of the research reactor, meet in the chemistry building foyer
1 p.m. Stories from the Oral History Project about life at Reed over the past 100 years, with Cricket Parmalee ’67, Kaul Auditorium
1–2 p.m. Patrick Lamb Band, the Quad
1–3 p.m. Field day activities, Great Lawn
2–3 p.m. Dedication of the orchard in the northeast corner of the Reed canyon: enjoy apple cider from a bicycle-powered apple press and music from a bluegrass band before the dedication ceremony.
